Oct 29, 2012 -- 3:57pm

A Cape Girardeau man pleads not guilty to murder.  Police were called to the South Sprigg and Locust Street intersection September 20th.  When they arrived, they found two victims who had been shot.  38-year-old Darcus Purl of Cape died at the hospital.  34-year-old Steven Williams of Cape had non-life threatening injuries.  He is charged with 2nd-degree murder and armed criminal action and sits in county jail on a 2-million-dollar bond.  The shooting allegedly took place over a girlfriend dispute that escalated.  Williams received a public defender.  He pleaded not guilty Monday before Judge William Syler.  A hearing is slated for November 5th in Jackson.
