The Arts Council will host their first national exhibit this week

Oct 31, 2012 -- 12:39pm

The Southeast Missouri Arts Council is hosting a special exhibit this week as part of first Friday.  More than 40 print-making pieces from across the nation will be on display through November.  More than 300 artists from across the U-S will be gathering in Cape for the annual Mid America Print Council Conference.  It’s being held at Southeast Missouri State University and sponsored in part by the art department.  Arts Council Executive Director Murielle Gaither tells KZIM-KSIM showcasing local artist is very important. The exhibit features a variety of print making styles including a real grilled cheese sandwich with an image of Jefferson Davis etched onto the outside crust.  The show is open from 5 to 9 PM and beverages and refreshments will be available to guests.
