Bells have already begun ringing in southeast Missouri for the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle drive. This is the largest fundraising effort by the group and pays for a number of projects throughout the year. They announced their goal this season at Monday night’s Southeast Missouri State University basketball game. This year they hope to raise $320,000. As of Tuesday morning they already raised 7-percent of that goal. Major Ben Stillwell tells KZIM-KSIM there is a lot they cover just in this season. This year’s locations include retail stores in Cape, Jackson and Perryville. They are still looking for volunteers to ring bells. You can get involved by calling 335-7000. Coats for kids will be this Thursday at Schnuck’s in Cape from 6 AM to 6 PM.
