Missouri has once again added more jobs according to the October Jobs Report. Last month the state added 13,000 new jobs to the market bringing to 2012 total to just over 25,000 new jobs. Currently Missouri is one full point below the current national unemployed number of 7.9%. Since its recessionary peak of 9.7% the state rate has fallen 2.8%. Economic Development Spokesman John Fougere tells KZIM-KSIM they are seeing job growth in certain areas. The employment rate is determined using two methods; non-seasonally adjusted and seasonally adjusted which factors out holiday hiring or short term employment. Non-seasonally is the preferred method and provides the most accurate jobs outlook for the state.
