For the 10th straight year, the local Marine Corps League Detachment is asking for your help to donate new, unwrapped toys for local kids this Christmas. The annual Toys for Tots drive is underway in Cape, Bollinger, Scott, and Stoddard Counties. The detachment will also enter a special military collection vehicle next Sunday in the Parade of Lights down Broadway in Cape, where you can drop off the toys in the truck as it rolls down the parade route. Local coordinator Richard Bollwerk tells KZIM KSIM they need thousands of toys to meet the local need. Bollwerk says they have set up over 40 boxes in Cape County alone where you can drop off those toys. He says they especially need some electronics for the older kids. You can find a collection location at toysfortots-dot-org. Their annual 24-hour marathon at Schnucks in Cape starts December 13th.
