The annual festival to kick off the Christmas season is this Sunday in downtown Cape!

Nov 19, 2012 -- 5:39pm

You know the Christmas season is upon us when the Parade of Lights makes its way down Broadway from Capaha park! Old Town Cape Project Manager, Nicholle Hinkle says this Sunday at dusk almost 1-hundred lighted floats will make their way to Hutson’s Fine Furniture as they dazzle small children and get everyone in the Spirit of the holiday! She tells KZIM KSIM they have strict rules. All floats must be lighted and be singing or playing Christmas music. One local entity will be using the parade as a way to make Christmas dreams come true… The theme is "all I want For Christmas" and the Marine Corps League is using that theme with a military truck to collect Toys For Tots. Old Town Cape encourages you to donate. Parents are asked to not allow children to approach the floats. The finale of the parade of Lights is Santa and his sleigh! Come early as the streets fill quickly! Bring hot chocolate and a new unwrapped toy! The KZIM KSIM annual Toys for Tots campaign is December 13th and 14th at Schnucks, with the marine Corps League.
