Missouri scouts raise 2 million cans during their annual drive

Nov 19, 2012 -- 1:22pm

More than 30-thousand Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturers helped feed the hungry this holiday by collecting canned food this weekend.  Saturday more than 2 million cans were collected as part of the 28th annual “Scouting for Food” drive.  On the 10th Scouts distributed bags to one million homes and businesses, and this Saturday returned to collect the bags.  St. Louis Area Boy Scouts of America Spokesman Joe Mueller tells KZIM-KSIM it’s a great lesson around the holidays. The food will be distributed to 500 area food pantries throughout eastern Missouri and southwest Illinois.  If the scouts missed your bag you can make a donation to all Regions Bank Locations through this Saturday.
