Nine Southern Missouri branches of Bank of America will soon become First State Community Bank, if they get regulatory approval. The Farmington, Missouri-based bank announced the takeover plans Tuesday. The transaction is expected to be final by mid-2013. The nine locations include the current Bank of America in Cape, Jackson, Kennett, Boonville, Mexico, Moberly, Richland, Rolla, and Vandalia. First State CEO Greg Allen tells KZIM KSIM they’re looking forward to a seamless transition. Allen says Bank of America customers will be getting information in the mail in the next few months about the changes in their accounts. First State offers many popular banking features online and through smartphone apps. The acquisition will increase First State’s assets to about 1-point-7-billion and give them 46 locations in Missouri.
