Dec 03, 2012 -- 2:36pm

A Cape Girardeau man will be back in court later this month for murder.  Police were called to the South Sprigg and Locust Street intersection September 20th.  When they arrived, they found two victims who had been shot.  38-year-old Darcus Purl of Cape died at the hospital.  34-year-old Steven Williams of Cape had non-life threatening injuries.  He is charged with 2nd-degree murder and sits in county jail on a 2-million-dollar bond.  The shooting allegedly took place over a girlfriend dispute that escalated.  Williams received a public defender.  He pleaded not guilty before Judge William Syler.  A hearing is slated for the 17th in Jackson.
