Missouri Highway Patrol Troop E worked a fatality accident on Sunday at 3-30pm on Route J – 22-miles west of Doniphan. 43-year old Starla Smith was reportedly northbound when her jeep ran off the road and struck a concrete culvert, causing her to overturn. She was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene by Ripley County Coroner Mike Jackson. She is fatality 51 for Troop E in 2012.
