A Charleston man charged with killing an ex-girlfriend will be back in court next month after a mistrial this week in Jackson! 28-year old Maurice Davis was arrested December 12th, 2010, in the killing of a 23-year-old Charleston woman. Latosha Greer of Charleston was found in a back yard, with a gunshot wound to her head. The murder weapon was recovered. Davis is jailed on charges of 1st-degree murder and Kidnapping. His case was moved to Cape County on a change of venue. Judge Ben Lewis is presiding over his trial. But a mistrial was declared Tuesday after they were unable to seat a qualified jury. All parties will be back in court to try again January 14th. Davis faces up to life in prison without parole. The prosecutor is not pursuing the death penalty.
