The SEMO Food Bank Wednesday took in a major potato donation and is looking for volunteers to help sort and bag them to distribute to the needy. They serve as a main hub for over 170 agencies in Southeast Missouri that provide meals and canned goods to over 55-thousand people per month. The bank received a shipment of 42-thousand pounds of potatoes. Development director Kristen Canter tells KZIM KSIM they now need people to help make sure they get to the right families. Canter says they are also in desperate need for donations this month to fill their shelves with canned goods, fruits, and other perishable items. If you can volunteer, call 651-0400.
