The Marine Corps League breaks a record with this year’s toy drive at Schnuck’s

Dec 19, 2012 -- 10:46am

More than 1,500 children will be having a merry Christmas this year thanks to the efforts of the Marine Corps League 1081.  Last Thursday they held their annual 25 hour Toys for Tots drive with the Salvation Army and Schnuck’s.  Community members brought toys, batteries and money to help fill a military truck this holiday season.  Toys for Tots Coordinator Richard Bollwerk tells KZIM-KSIM they broke a one-day collection record. Families who filled out a need form will be contacted to make arrangements for delivery.  The Marine Corps League will work with social services to begin their deliveries tomorrow.
