Dec 19, 2012 -- 12:39pm

A Leopold woman has pled guilty to bank fraud.  In October 2009 Crystal Elfrink was named as a trustee for her aunt Loretta Elfrink.  As a trustee Elfrink had access to Loretta’s trust and was granted a power of attorney to act on her behalf.  One provision of the agreement was that Crystal Elfrink was not to allow her personally gain from any transaction.  Elfrink began contacted banks and investment firms holding Loretta’s money stating she would be making withdrawals to help pay for Loretta’s needs.  Beginning in November 2009 she began making withdrawals from Loretta’s bank, which was being filled with money from her investments, for her own gain.  Elfrink defrauded Loretta of more than 120-thousand dollars.  She now faces a maximum punishment of 30 years in prison.  Her sentencing has been set for March 25th, 2013.
