People are racing to get the Jackson Homecomers celebration underway! Literally! Executive Director of the Jackson Parks and Recreation Department Shane Anderson says a 5K and 1 mile kids’ run will take place – beginning at the American legion baseball field at 6-30pm Tuesday the 24^th! There are age groups from 14 and under all the way up to 60-plus! He tells KZIM KSIM this is race is competitive but also a social event! It is not easy and that is exactly why so many choose it! It is hilly and quite challenging but you can reward yourself afterward with a funnel cake or corn dog! To register visit Jackson-mo-dot-org. Sign up by this Friday and pay 15-dollars. It’s 20 after that. There are discounts if more than 3 from a family join. Top finishers will get awards and the first 125 to register get a dry wick shirt.
