As Fronaberger continues their march down Broadway Street in Cape Girardeau the city has closed a major downtown intersection. Monday crews closed the Sprigg Street intersection in preparation for work to begin. They will spend the next couple of days working with utility lines before the new street can be laid. City Engineer Casey Brunke tells KZIM-KSIM the city layout makes detours easy to follow. Fronaberger will begin their work on the intersection next Monday. The intersection could be shut down for up to three weeks. The city has also started placing trees along the sidewalk to begin their façade work.
