The Board of Education of the Jackson R-II School District passed a resolution Tuesday to approve Jackson School District's remaining 7-million dollars in general-obligation bonds earmarked for the construction of an elementary school on North Lacey Street, part of the 16 million dollars in bonds were approved by Jackson voters in April 2012. The district’s Chief Financial Officer, Wade Bartels tells KZIM-KSIM that plans are progressing for the much needed building, as the last elementary added by the district was in 1998. He says that the new school will give relief for crowded classrooms and traffic issues. Bartels says the bids for construction should be let soon. The board also voted to grant a sewer-line easement at Orchard Elementary School to an adjacent subdivision that is under construction.
