Classes began Monday at Southeast Missouri State University with the first-day spring semester enrollment total up 3.4 percent according to a preliminary report compiled after the first full day of classes. The combined undergraduate and graduate student count is 10,502, up from 10,154 at this time last year. The international student headcount is 813, up from 624 in the spring of 2012. The report also shows high school enrollment is 275, up from 148. University officials say this increase is attributed to more online dual credit courses being offered, and some high schools that have not participated in the past are now offering or expanding dual credit courses.
