A young soldier from Sikeston is among those handpicked during basic training to march with the US Air Force Band and Honor Guard in the 57th Presidential Inaugural Parade on Monday. The Airman 1st Class Stephanie Avery tells KZIM-KSIM she is looking forward perhaps seeing some celebrities at the event, and will be serving as an usher. Airman Avery and her squadron were interviewed by parade planners while still in basic training, and have been practicing every day from 7:30 am to 3pm in preparation. She has been stationed in Washington DC for approximately 5 months. Avery says her mother is very proud, and can't wait to possibly see her on television. The parade will be broadcast on Fox News, CBS, CNN and BET.
