If the symbol of American freedom and a protected member of the wild kingdom is of interest to you… the bi annual Eagle Days is almost upon us. The Mingo National Wildlife Reserve and Duck Creek Conservation Area will have viewings during the peak “Eagle” season at both locations on February 2nd. The bald eagle is a major success story for endangered species with over 7-thousand nesting pairs in the 48 contiguous states this year, as opposed to being very uncommon in the 1960-s. You are invited to attend the public event that Saturday from 9am to 4pm at either location. There will be learning opportunities and exhibits at the visitor’s centers as well as LIVE eagle presentations viewing opportunities. Both areas are located off Highway 51 just north of Puxico. For information call 573-222-3589.
