Wayne Wallingford will not seek the Republican nomination for 8th district

Jan 30, 2013 -- 6:16pm

In statement Wednesday, State Senator Wayne Wallingford announced his decision not to seek the 8th Congressional nomination.  He says he feels that his most important duty is to continue to serve our region in the State Senate, and “lead on conservative issues like tax reform, tort reform to protect physicians and small businesses from frivolous lawsuits, and regulatory reform to help get government out of the way of job growth”.  Wallingford, a businessman from Cape Girardeau, was elected to the Missouri Senate in 2012, and prior to that served in the Missouri House of Representatives.
