Feb 01, 2013 -- 6:51pm

Visit Duck Creek Conservation Area and Mingo National Wildlife Refuge for Eagle Days activities! The live bald eagle, named Phoenix, played a role in bald eagle restoration in the 1980’s according to Education Director for Dickerson Park Zoo Pam Price. 20-year-old Phoenix didn’t make it in the wild and has impacted education efforts throughout her life.Eagle Days events open up to the public Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. All activities will begin at Mingo's Maintenance Shop. Mingo NWR is located on highway 51, north of Puxico. Dress for cold weather, wear boots that can get muddy and bring binoculars. Oh, and most certainly, don’t forget to bring your kids!
