Missouri Highway Patrol Troop E is reporting a wreck with odd circumstances on their official page. According to Corporal CW Tucker the incident happened just before 8:30 last night when a truck driven by 30-year old Benjamin Hillis was southbound on County Road 46-81 one-mile south of Poplar Bluff while being pursued by city police for unknown infractions. During the chase Hillis ran a stop sign, ran off the road and struck a tree, another parked vehicle and ran into a MOBILE HOME! Upon impact the tool box in his GMC pickup became dislodged and hit another vehicle. Hillis sustained serious injuries and was NOT wearing his seat belt. He was flown to St. Francis Medical Center for treatment. No word yet on if citations will be issued.
