Gov. Jay Nixon today/Thursday named Joshua D. Underwood, of New Madrid, to serve as an Associate Circuit Judge for New Madrid County. Underwood will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Charles Spitler. Underwood operates a private practice and currently serves as municipal judge for New Madrid. Governor Nixon said that he is pleased to appoint him to the bench in the 34th Circuit to serve the people of the county where Underwood has practiced law and lived for much of his life.
