Emergency disaster services training, open to all

Feb 18, 2013 -- 8:15am

The Salvation Army in Southeast Missouri has provided disaster aide for decades, and for the past 20 years has done so with a special on-site vehicle.  They have a new truck, and are looking for you to become a trained disaster volunteer, as Salvation Army Major Ben Stillwell tells KZIM-KSIM.  Courses are: Intro to Salvation Army EDS, Food Services, Safe from Harm.  Classes will be at 701 Good Hope St, Cape Girardeau on Friday March 1 from 6-8pm, and Saturday March 2 from 10am-4pm.  There will be a dedication for the new canteen truck Sunday at 11am.  All the training is free, and Stillwell says you must register by Sunday February 24 at 573-335-7000.
