The local advertising professionals organization recognized those who they felt had achieved much this year. The Tri-State Advertising and Marketing Professionals awarded their highest honors Friday during the annual ADDY Awards banquet. With a circus inspired theme, the 2013 ADDYs entries were said to represent the "best advertising show on earth" and the awards celebrated advertising's "art of illusion.” Red Letter Communications of Cape won Best of Show in the broadcast/multimedia division, and the Wright Group of Perryville won Best of Show in the print division. In the student category, a Gold ADDY was awarded to a group of students from Southeast Missouri State University for a Discovery Playhouse Facebook Cover Photo—and among those students—RiverRadio’s own Kate Bridgewater. Gold ADDY winners are automatically eligible to compete in district competition in March against entries submitted by clubs in Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. District winners will compete at the national level in June.
