Tornado drill in Cape County rescheduled

Overcast skies and high winds led to the rescheduling of Cape Girardeau County's participation in Tuesday's statewide tornado drill.  Director of the Cape Girardeau County Emergency Management Agency Richard Knaup wanted to be sure the public learned all they could from the exercise.  The drill at 1:30pm tomorrow/today is part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, an effort by the National Weather Service, the State Emergency Management Agency and local emergency-management offices to urge people to plan and prepare for severe weather. There is a new smartphone app from the American Red Cross that Knaup says is very effective, as well as the state emergency management website at sema.dps.mo.gov
