Browse a major flea market next weekend in Cape to fund programs that benefit women

Mar 08, 2013 -- 4:31pm

If you support efforts for the advancement of women locally and internationally you are likely acquainted with the work of the Zonta Club. This includes the Safe House for Women and missionary work overseas to assist women in horrific poverty. For a quarter of a century Zonta member Dale Humphries has been in on the planning of their annual flea market. It will take place next Saturday the 16th at the Family Life Center of Centenary Church on Ellis Street in Cape Girardeau. Humphries tells KZIM KSIM she would love to tell you what to expect but they often don’t know until the day before! the women flood the place with items from a storage unit and Friday morning people start backing up to the door with cars and trucks FULL of stuff. Including many house hold items. Of course you will jewelry, collectibles and more but the mystery is part of the allure! The doors open at 7am. Humphries adds that a percentage of proceeds at BOB EVANS restaurant from the 16th through the 18th will go to the Zonta Club. Just mention them or take a flier from the flea market to get them credit.
