Wayne Wallingford calls for a series of debates in the next two weeks

Jul 25, 2012 -- 2:38pm

Missouri Senate candidate Wayne Wallingford is asking his opponent Ellen Brandom for a series of debates before the August 7th primary election.  Wallingford laid down the challenge to his colleague in the Missouri House Monday in an attempt he says to set the record straight on his stances.  Wallingford wants a Lincoln-Douglas style debate on the courthouse of each of the six counties courthouse steps in the 27th Senate District.  He tells KZIM KSIM this will give them both a forum to show their differences to voters.  Wallingford says a lot of this campaign has been a battle of radio and TV ads, which have misled positions on issues that are important to voters.  He wants to start the six debates Friday at noon in Cape County.  Ellen Brandom has not responded to his request.  The newly drawn 27th District includes Cape, Bollinger, Madison, Scott, Perry, and Wayne Counties.
