Sikeston’s city youth sports venues will take on a new policy following a recommendation from the Park Board. Various sports facilities are now being marked as tobacco free. The Board recommended the move in their May 14th presentation to the city council and it was approved on the 23rd. Tobacco in all forms is now restricted to only the parking lot for locations such as the youth baseball, softball, Jaycee football and soccer fields at the Recreation Complex and the VFW baseball stadium. Individuals caught using tobacco will be asked to get rid of it or move to the parking lot.
