Missouri Governor Jay Nixon will be in Cape Girardeau today to sign tax legislation that helps charitable organizations raise private donations. According to the governor's office, Nixon will sign the legislation at the Southeast Missouri Food Bank on Nash Road. Senate Bill 20 will help organizations like the food bank by re authorizing targeted state tax credits for contributions. Other organizations affected by the legislation will be child advocacy centers and court-appointed special avocation for assisting children who are victims of abuse and neglect.
