A Cape County judge will now decide whether or not there is enough evidence for Clay Waller to stand trial in the death of his estranged wife Jacque. The 41-year-old appeared in person in court Wednesday in his preliminary hearing before Judge Gary Kamp in Jackson. Clay is charged with first-degree murder. The hearing was moved to a larger courtroom to accommodate the crowd. The prosecutor brought 20 witnesses to the stand in order to show there is substantial reason to believe Clay Waller committed the crime. The witnesses included Jacque’s sister, Cheryl Brenneke. The mother of triplets was 39 when she was last seen alive June 1st, 2011. Her body has never been located. Judge Kamp did not rule after the six hour long hearing. He will take the evidence under advisement and render a decision at a later date.
