The effort continues to complete the all accessible playland in Cape County Park North

Apr 05, 2013 -- 3:57pm

Melaina’s Magical Playland is not yet complete. Co-Coordinator of an upcoming fundraiser Tracie Higgins says the hope is to have everything in place by this summer. The all accessible playland is located in Cape County Park North – and is the named for the late daughter of Jeff and Andrea Cunningham. Higgins tells KZIM KSIM they went with the theme -  ALL PLAY 5K run/walk to finish the dream of the family. This was selected on the idea of the playground that it be all inclusive and completely accessible. Melaina was bound to a wheelchair yet LOVED going to the park to play. This place would have brought her great joy. Higgins says the facebook page for the event has a registration form yet you may also get them at the Missouri Running Company on Kingsway Drive in Cape. The 5K run/walk is on the 20th with registration beginning at 8am. There will be awards in all age categories. Registration by the 10th will guarantee a T-shirt.
