Local student artwork will be on display in a reception to recognize individuals who had artwork submitted to the 27th Annual Eighth Congressional District High School Art Competition. Southeast Missouri State Arts Council Executive Director Murielle Gaither tells KZIM/KSIM the winner of this competition will have their artwork on display at the Nation's Capitol for one year. The exhibit will be on display until May 25 at the Arts Council Galleries, located at 32 North Main Street in Cape Girardeau. This year, the Grand Prize winner will receive an award, and two ticket vouchers from Southwest Airlines to attend the reception for the National Congressional Art Competition in Washington, D.C. Ten finalists will also be named at the reception.
