The Missouri Highway Patrol has completed their first SAFETE operation in the Troop E area. The enforcement program is focused on violations of commercial motor vehicles. It was conducted on July 19th in Cape County. During the eight hour project, five troopers were tasked with focusing on hazardous actions of commercial drivers. Trooper Clark Parrott tells KZIM-KSIM they have a great working relationship with commercial vehicle operators. Two trucks were put out of service during the program. The troop will run this operation two more times in Cape Girardeau County this year. He cautions all drivers to be aware of the movements of commercial vehicles when on the roadways.
