Which state bills were the best and worst of this legislative session? One think tank did its own brackets!

Apr 30, 2013 -- 2:01pm

Each legislative session there are good bills and bad bills brought forth for debate in both the Missouri House of Representatives and the Senate. State Director for Missouri’s Americans for prosperity Group Patrick Werner says they did a March bracket of their own seeding bills they saw as best against those that seemed worst. He tells KZIM KSIM the best spot went to Cap spending (HR 17) (SJR 2) from Representative Eric Burlison and Senator Brad Lager. In terms of protecting our economic freedoms the BEST bill puts restraints on future legislatures by saying you can't spend more than you take in and we're going to limit what you can spend to a certain percentage of growth over certain outlet years. The Cape Spending almost lost out to the Right to Work bill. On the bottom was a late bloomer- the Utility Surcharge Bill (SB 207) (HB 398) which would have added thirty to forty dollars more to your bill on top of what you already pay. Werner says they picked the best and worst according to how it would affect a constituent’s pocket book! To learn more go to m-o-dot-a-f-p-dot-org.
