Public libraries offer more than stacks and shushing!
The Sikeston Public Library will be a busy place during the month of May. Their annual Mother-Daughter Tea, for girls in second through fifth grades, will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday. Participants will read about American Girl Caroline, design tea party hats, play musical chairs, and drink tea. Refreshments include finger sandwiches, spring cupcakes and lemonade. Reservations are required, call 573-471-4140 to reserve your spot. A book discussion group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday the 7th to discuss The Madonnas of Leningrad by Debra Dean. Books are provided to library patrons who wish to join. And May marks the one-year anniversary of the library offering e-books and downloadable audiobooks through the MoLib2Go consortium, with approximately 200 users who have signed up for e-book usage!
