Missouri is one of only a few states that hold a statewide Juror Appreciation Week. All this week, Judges, lawyers and court clerks acknowledge jurors’ contribution to the courts and to their communities. Cape Girardeau County Circuit Court Clerk Patti Wibbenmeyer tells KZIM-KSIM that her office understands the significance of jurors. Wibbenmeyer says they provide pizza, snacks and beverages for jurors as often as possible, as they call juries every week. She says that while the process may seem lengthy to observers, Cape County Circuit Courts have received the O’Toole Award for processing cases among the fastest in the state, and residents call to jury duty is a big part of that.
