East Prairie High School students are giving back to others in lieu of a senior trip. Students have raised thousands of dollars but have decided to donate the funds to charity. The seniors met Wednesday to decide which organizations the money would go to, and will donate a total of $2,595 to three organizations. They chose: ROHHAD Fight, that helps children with a rare syndrome of Rapid-Onset Obesity with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation; the Jessie Rees Foundation that provides cancer support to children with pediatric cancer; and St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. The seniors based their choices on organizations that local children with illnesses have had interaction with, and hope the money will bring some joy to them.
