Another Cape Girardeau County candidate for Public Administrator talks about her calling to the position

Aug 02, 2012 -- 5:47pm

A Registered Nurse for nearly 20 years and a self proclaimed people person, Lisa Reitzel wants to be the next Public Administrator for Cape Girardeau County. She says her morals and values align her more with the conservative Republican party so she chose to run on the GOP ticket August 7th for the primary election. She tells KZIM KSIM she would learn details about each of the 150 people who are in the care of the PA office…She would give each person individual attention as they are unique. They deserve the best care possible. Reitzel says she feels like candidates have learned a new word "ward" but she says she prefers to call each person by name. Reitzel says these individuals have specific mental and medical problems and she would make sure to understand them well before making decisions. She feels she is the best candidate due to her patient experience and advocacy already incorporated into her daily activities. She faces Julie Metzger, Janet Niedbalski, Mary Ann Friese, Kim Kelley, Helen Jackson, Tammy Sladek, Linda Nash, Scott Schnurbusch, Stuart Hoeller, Phyllis Mayfield, and Sharon Schuessler.
