With the first-ever Bikers on the Square event just around the corner, those coordinating it, as well as local law enforcement, want to assure the public that the Saturday event will be safe and family-friendlu. The City of Perryville has closed off the Courthouse Square to throw the biggest party in the area, just for bikers and biking enthusiasts. Both the Perryville Police Department and the Perry County Sheriff’s Department will be present for the event, and Assistant Police Chief Bill Jones said officer presence will be much like it is for other large, annual events. Law enforcement encourages awareness of several tentative street closures and traffic control areas that will occur during the event, specifically during the bike parade. If you want more info on Bikers on the Square or street closures, you can call the City of Perryville at 573-547-2594 or go to the event’s webpage bikersonthesquare.com.
