Missouri youth are helping the community, some locals help lead.

Sikeston First United Methodist Church is playing host to a group of youth workers from around the state this week.  They are part of the summer mission teams put together by the Missouri United Methodist Conference Council on Youth Ministries.  Missions Committee Chairperson Will Glenn, of Hood UMC in Republic tells KZIM-KSIM that they are here to help turn around the effects of flooding in the area.  Glenn says that they are working in and around Sikeston until Saturday, and each day finishes with a worship service led by Seeking Souls—the youth praise band from Centenary UMC in Cape Girardeau—made up of students from Cape Central High School.  He says all those served by the teams are invited to join them Friday night for worship, and energizing and renewing experience.  The workers are led and fed by volunteers, and Glenn says other trips are scheduled for Colorado, New Orleans, and Oklahoma.
