Three Sikeston men have been arrested in connection with the early morning shooting that left a Sikeston man paralyzed. On June 10th Sikeston DPS received a call of subject shot on Mary Street and found a 35 year old Sikeston man with a gunshot wound in his back, lying near the back door of his residence. The victim was able to tell officers that the suspects kicked in his back door and shot him. Devante “Tae” McClinton was arrested on the 12th after the victim named him as one of the perpetrators. The victim was shot in the spine during a struggle and is now paralyzed. When McClinton was arrested he already had two outstanding warrants for robbery and burglary. Warrants were obtained for a residence at 1305 Ann Street in Sikeston. 17-year old Maurice “Lil Nolan” Hunt was arrested in his vehicle nearby. Officers found a firearm hidden in the vehicle. Another subject, unrelated to the shooting, was also arrested. This person has not been charged so his name is not being released. Shortly after the first arrest, Police responded to the home of the third shooting suspect. 19-year old Shaquille “Kilo” Sherrod of Sikeston was arrested without incident.
