Union County Government Offices will initiate a locked electrical rate to cut costs

Jun 18, 2013 -- 5:30pm

Union County’s government offices will initiate some cost savings on their electrical bills in August.  At its regular board meeting on Friday the board of commissioners signed off on a plan that would lock in all County facilities with an electrical rate of 4.625 cents per kilowatt hour for a twenty-four-month period. Treasurer Darren Bailey tells KZIM KSIM…This rate reduction was coordinated by Select Energy Partners, LLC. Bailey says that the county has done fixed rate before and it is something he would like to see in citizen households as well. Full details of the agreement are available on the county website at by clicking the Contracts tab and selecting Service Agreements.
