More than 20 Mayors of towns located on the Mississippi are holding a press briefing to announce important developments in their work to make the river more sustainable—including a first-ever Memorandum of Common Purpose with the Army Corps of Engineers. Cape Girardeau Mayor Harry Rediger is one of the mayors who will be attending the three day conference in St. Cloud, MN.The Mayors are all members of the Mississippi River Cities & Towns Initiative (MRCTI), a mayoral-led effort comprised of 55 River Mayors committed to creating a coordinated voice for the Mississippi River. The conference begins this Thursday and closes out on Saturday.
