Marble Hill Meat Plant reopens after being shut down for violations

Jun 28, 2013 -- 5:07pm

Ed's Certified Meats in Marble Hill has resumed operations after addressing violations identified on June 18. According to a news release issued by the Missouri Department of Agriculture, state inspection resumed this week at the request of the business owner. As a result of the inspection, the custom exempt processing permissions for the business were reinstated, the release said. Facilities operating under a custom processing exemption, such as Ed's Certified Meats, are not allowed to sell meat to the public. Custom exempt processing is completed for livestock owners for their own consumption, and all custom exempt packaging is specially marked.
