A utility crew plans a rolling road block with a brief traffic stoppage on Interstate 24 in the Paducah area on Sunday morning. KU plans to replace shield wires on a high voltage transmission line that crosses I-24 near the 9 mile marker in McCracken County. This work will require rolling road blocks starting around 8:00 a.m., CDT, Sunday. Police cruisers will slow approaching vehicles to allow traffic to clear so wires can be run across I-24 at the work site. There are likely to be several rolling road blocks between 8:00 a.m. and about Noon, Sunday. Traffic will only be blocked about 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Motorists traveling I-24 near the 9 mile marker between 8:00 a.m., and Noon should be aware of this work zone and use appropriate caution.
