Jul 02, 2013 -- 5:05pm

Preventing dropout rates from climbing among local schools can be rewarding and A-warding!  Poplar Bluff High School Principal Mike Kiehne and Junior High Principal Bob Case accepted a certificate of excellence for exemplifying a National Dropout Prevention Center model school during the second annual Missouri Dropout Summit held June 24th thru 26th in Jefferson City.  A total of 26 PBHS students enrolled at the Graduation Center received their diplomas during commencement this past May, helping to increase the district’s graduation rate from 76.4 to 80.1 percent, based on national standards.
