Burglars are hiding in your home? Get out and call the authorities immediately.
Two suspects face burglary charges after a woman came home to find her lights not working—and someone in her house. When the victim arrived at her home on Highway 80 just outside of East Prairie after work on June 27th, she was unable to turn on the lights, and went to check the breaker box. As she tried to open the closet, a person inside pulled it shut—the victim then got a neighbor, who then held the closet shut to keep the suspect from escaping. When Mississippi County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived, they found Anthony Matthews in the closet and Kasie Housman behind a water heater in a utility room. Matthews and Housman are charged with first degree burglary, first degree property damage and felony stealing. Both were taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center with bonds set at $100,000. Their arraignments are set for July 10th at 9am before Judge T. Lynn Brown.
