The two hour drive from St. Louis to Cape is rarely anyone’s first choice, and now one airline is making it easier to avoid. Cape Air has been in the market for over 3 years, and spokesperson Stacey Putnam Ross tells KZIM-KSIM that area residents and Southeast Missouri State students have helped to grow the regional airline service. Total Cape Air passenger traffic grew by 12% from 2010 to 2011 and by another 14% the next year. Total passenger traffic for January –June of this year is up 6% compared with the same period last year. The ‘thank you’ flight—#1121 departs St. Louis at 9:40 a.m. and arrives at the Cape Regional Airport at 10:30 a.m., Monday – Friday, and will run you a mere $29.00! The discount fare is available for purchase online at capeair.com.
